![]() ![]() Then, out of the blue, it would not shift into reverse or park, just ground gears continuously until Neutral. Ordered a used good transmission from B&R Auto Salvage - ha, ha - the fluid was as black and the transmission as overheated and worn out as my original - rebuilt it with a full gasket, seal, and clutch set and the TransGo Shift Kit - as per /watch?v=QfdRD-agb8s&t=7227s (where Hiram had me install the reverse, which locked the transmission but I didn't know until both wheels were on the ground and it wouldn't move, dropped the engine and transmission again, disassembled the transmission again, installed the reverse gear selector the way the manual said this time - ridge DOWN - started it and the transmission worked! Shifted out of Park into Reverse, Neutral, Drive, D3, D2 but the light did not come on for D1. Don't know what gear it downshifted to, but the engine was close to redline. I changed fluid and it started working again but it would downshift while doing 60. It would not move in drive, would only reverse. If a solenoid changed from off to on or vice versa, I indicate the first reading, then an arrow, followed by the final reading in bold.Ĭlick to expand.Did you resolve this problem? I bought a used Odyssey with transmission problems - the man needed money and I thought I could fix it. I'll try to make a chart showing the results. Sometimes, the valves would read off and switch after a few seconds to on. With the same code reader, I checked the A/T shift solenoids, and here's where it gets interesting. My code reader gives me command and actual voltage for each, and all 3 are within. I checked all 3 clutch pressure control solenoids. Reinstalled the valves, which cleared the code, but reverse still won't engage. I pulled the A&B valve off and put 12V to both solenoids, and they both moved freely. I checked with a Foxwell code reader and it was throwing a 0747 code for the trans: CPC valve A stuck open. There's no engagement in the trans when put into R, so I don't think it's internal to the trans. For added adventure, on Monday, she was 40.4 weeks pregnant with baby #7 (and the 8-pass Ody has, with the birth of a baby boy on Tuesday, been relegated to the small, spare vehicle). ![]() But When shifting into reverse, it just acts like neutral. Then on Monday, my wife got stuck at Walmart when the van wouldn't go into reverse. Van drove great for the last year on the new trans. 1 year ago I replaced the transmission with one recently rebuilt (and then wrecked). I am continually amazed at the time so many of you take to troubleshoot for the rest of us. ![]()
